Array processing entity array placement and routing

A method for order-based placement and routing of processing entities (PEs) of an array of PEs, the method comprises:

• obtaining hardware constraints regarding the array of PEs, the hardware constraints comprise local connectivity constraints and remote connectivity constraints;
• receiving a computation graph (CG) that represents mathematical expressions to be calculated by the array of PEs;
• and
• performing a placement primitives (PPs) based determining of a location of the PEs of the array of PEs based on the computation graph, the PPs, and the hardware constraints;
• wherein the PPs based determining comprises determining an order of PPs to be evaluated during the PPs based determining.

A method for hash-based placement of an array of processing entities (PEs), the method comprises:

• obtaining hardware constraints regarding the array, the hardware constraints comprise local connectivity constraints and remote connectivity constraints;
• receiving a computation graph (CC) that represents mathematical expressions to be calculated by the array;
• and
• performing a hash-based placement primitives (PPs) based determining of a location of the PEs of the array based on the computation graph, the PPs, and the hardware constraints;
• wherein the hash-based PPs based determining comprises performing multiple hash-based sets of placement iterations, wherein a hash-based set of placement iterations is associated with a portion of the array, wherein the hash-based set of placement iterations comprises:
• an initial hash-based placement iteration for an initial population of a window that is empty with an initial allowed hardware implementation of an initial PP;
• and
• additional hash-based placement iterations for populating the window that is partially populated, with one or more additional allowed hardware implementations of one or more additional PPs;
• wherein the additional hash-based placement iterations are executed based on one or more hash-values of one or more populated nodes.
