Abstract
A method for performing checkpointing for fault tolerance of an application is provided, which is performed by one or more processors, and includes storing accelerator data associated with an application at a specific time point as a checkpoint, storing operation data associated with the application performed after the specific time point, and performing application fault tolerance based on the checkpoint and the stored operation data.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- suspending, by a computing device and based on a first completion status of a first subset of application data corresponding to write access, a first operation associated with the first subset of the application data;
- executing, by the computing device and based on a second completion status of a second subset of the application data, a second operation associated with the second subset of the application data, wherein the first operation and the second operation are executable in parallel;
- generating, by the computing device, operation data indicating one or more operations, including the suspended first operation and the executed second operation, performed after a time corresponding to a previous checkpoint;
- and
- performing, by the computing device and based on comparing the operation data to second data associated with the previous checkpoint, application fault tolerance on an application associated with the application data.
A computing device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:
- suspend, based on a first completion status of a first subset of application data corresponding to write access, a first operation associated with the first subset of the application data;
- execute, based on a second completion status of a second subset of the application data, a second operation associated with the second subset of the application data, wherein the first operation and the second operation are executable in parallel;
- generate operation data indicating one or more operations, including the suspended first operation and the executed second operation, performed after a time corresponding to a previous checkpoint;
- and
- perform, based on comparing the operation data to second data associated with the previous checkpoint, application fault tolerance on an application associated with the application data.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a computing device, cause the computing device to:
- suspend, based on a first completion status of a first subset of application data corresponding to write access, a first operation associated with the first subset of the application data;
- execute, based on a second completion status of a second subset of the application data, a second operation associated with the second subset of the application data, wherein the first operation and the second operation are executable in parallel;
- generate operation data indicating one or more operations, including the suspended first operation and the executed second operation, performed after a time corresponding to a previous checkpoint;
- and
- perform, based on comparing the operation data to second data associated with the previous checkpoint, application fault tolerance on an application associated with the application data.
