Abstract

A solar collection platform comprises a first heating stage providing a first heated medium output; a second heating stage thermally coupled to receive the first heated medium output, the second heating stage further heating the first heated medium output to provide a second, cumulative heated medium output; wherein the first and second heated stages are incorporated into a standard sized shipping container form factor containing a distributed thermal storage, and the first and second heating stages each comprise rotatable Fresnel lens arrays with single axis tracking. A rugged Fresnel lens panel support structure changes the elevational orientation of the panels in a single degree of freedom to track the changing position of the sun's elevational. Longitudinal linear adjustment of the panels' position corrects focal point for the sun's seasonal azimuth changes at low angles to increase efficiency.
