Abstract
The disclosure relates to a screw pump comprising: a casing with an inlet, an outlet and a flow chamber between the inlet and the outlet; and at least two screws housed in the flow chamber to force a fluid flow through the flow chamber from the inlet to the outlet; wherein at least one of the screws comprises a lubricated polymer material.
Claims18
A screw pump comprising:
- a casing having an inlet, an outlet, and a flow chamber extending between the inlet and the outlet;
- at least two screws disposed within the flow chamber and configured to convey a fluid from the inlet toward the outlet during rotation;
- and
- an insert received within the casing, the insert defining at least a portion of the flow chamber and configured to receive and support the at least two screws,
- wherein at least one of the screws comprises a lubricated polymer material, and
- wherein the lubricated polymer material comprises a glass fiber reinforced polyphenylene sulfide containing a solid lubricant.
3 more elements
A screw assembly for a screw pump, comprising:
- a central shaft formed from a first material;
- and
- a helical screw body molded onto the central shaft and formed from a lubricated polymer material comprising a glass fiber reinforced polyphenylene sulfide containing a solid lubricant,
- wherein the lubricated polymer material has a lower stiffness than the first material.
