Abstract
A bolting rig and method for rock reinforcing is provided. The bolting rig includes a movable carrier, a bolting boom mounted to a boom mounting point, and a bolting unit mounted to the bolting boom. There is also provided a cable reel arrangement, which includes a cable reel loaded with would cable. The cable reel arrangement is located at a front part of the carrier and is in front of the boom mounting point.

A rock bolting rig for installing cable bolts to drill holes for reinforcing a rock surface, the bolting rig comprising:
- a carrier movable in an operating direction and an opposite reverse direction;
- at least one bolting boom mounted to a boom mounting point on the carrier and configured to face towards the operating direction;
- at least one bolting unit mounted to a distal end portion of the bolting boom;
- at least one cable reel arrangement supported on the carrier and being arranged for storing wound cable;
- at least one cable feed device arranged for feeding the cable from the cable reel arrangement to the bolting unit;
- and
- a guide arrangement for guiding the cable from the cable reel arrangement to the bolting unit, wherein the cable reel arrangement is located in front of the boom mounting point.

A method for rock reinforcing, wherein the method comprises:
- providing a bolting rig including a carrier, a bolting boom, a bolting unit and a cable reel;
- drilling a drill hole in the rock surface with a rock drilling machine of the bolting unit;
- feeding grouting material into the drill hole;
- feeding from the cable reel a cable bolt to the drill hole by means of a feed device;
- cutting the cable bolt outside the drill hole;
- and
- supporting the cable reel at a front part of the carrier and operating the cable reel independently in relation to the bolting boom.
