Abstract
A bioproduction mixing system includes a flexible compartment having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending therebetween, a center axis passing through the flexible compartment between the first end and the second end. A helical assembly is disposed within the flexible compartment and is suspended between the first end and the second end, the helical assembly being offset from the center axis of the flexible compartment.

1-19. (canceled)
A bioproduction mixing system for mixing a fluid, comprising:
- a flexible compartment having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending therebetween;
- a mixing assembly disposed within the flexible compartment and extending between the first and second ends, the mixing assembly comprising a first line and a second line;
- and
- an impeller assembly coupled to the first and second lines proximate the second end of the flexible compartment.
A method for mixing fluid in a bioproduction system, the method comprising:
- providing a mixing system comprising a flexible compartment and a mixing assembly suspended therein, the mixing assembly comprising a first line and a second line, and an impeller assembly located proximately at a lower end of the compartment;
- introducing a first volume of fluid into the flexible compartment, wherein the fluid level submerges the impeller assembly while only partially filling the flexible compartment;
- and
- rotating the mixing assembly, thereby causing the submerged impeller assembly to rotate and mix the first volume of fluid.
