Abstract
Said process involves the following steps: (a) converting a C1 to C6 alcohol stream to produce a mixture containing paraffins, olefins, aromatics, and water; (b) separating the water from the mixture to form a water-depleted mixture; the water-depleted mixture is separated and/or treated to recover hydrocarbons; The process includes adding, in step (a) of converting the C1 to C6 alcohol stream, a carbon dioxide-containing stream, and jointly converting the carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide in step (a) of converting the C1-C6 alcohol stream.
Claims15
A hydrocarbon producing process, comprising:
- (a) converting a C1 to C6 alcohol stream to produce a mixture containing paraffins, olefins, aromatics, and water;
- (b) separating water from the mixture containing paraffins, olefins, aromatics, and water to form a water-depleted mixture;
- the water-depleted mixture being separated and/or treated to recover hydrocarbons;
- the process comprising adding, in the converting of the C1 to C6 alcohol stream, a carbon dioxide-containing stream, and jointly converting carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide in the converting of the C1-C6 alcohol stream.
A hydrocarbon producing plant, comprising:
- a E conversion stage configured to convert a C1 to C6 alcohol stream to produce a mixture containing paraffins, olefins, aromatics, and water;
- a separation stage configured to separate the water from the mixture containing paraffins, olefins, aromatics, and water to form a water-depleted mixture;
- at least one separation/treatment stage configured to separate and/or treat the water-depleted mixture to recover hydrocarbons,
- the conversion stage comprising at least one supply conduit configured to supply a carbon dioxide-containing stream, the conversion stage being configured to convert carbon dioxide arising from the carbon dioxide-containing stream in carbon monoxide jointly with the conversion of the C1 to C6 alcohol stream.
