Abstract
A method of making superhydrophobic concrete includes creating a mixture, wherein the mixture comprises aragonite and/or graphene, and heating the mixture to a temperature between 500° C. and 2,500° C., then drying the mixture, and, optionally, adding the mixture to concrete.
Claims20
A method of reducing rusting in steel or concrete, the method comprising:
- creating a mixture, wherein the mixture comprises aragonite and superhydrophobic graphene;
- heating the mixture to a temperature between 500° C. and 2,500° C.;
- drying the mixture;
- making the mixture into a paste;
- and
- applying the paste to the steel or the concrete.
3 more elements
An oxidation-protected construction material, comprising:
- a steel and/or concrete element comprising a heat-treated mixture of aragonite and superhydrophobic graphene;
- wherein the steel and/or concrete element that comprises the heat-treated mixture exhibits less oxidation over time as the same steel and/or concrete element without the heat-treated mixture.
