Recording apparatus, recording method, and storage medium

A recording apparatus comprising:

• a conveying part configured to convey a continuous sheet in a conveyance direction;
• a recording part configured to perform recording on the continuous sheet during the conveyance of the continuous sheet by the conveying part;
• a detection part configured to detect a splice that is a connecting portion of the continuous sheet;
• a communication part configured to communicate with an external device;
• and
• a control part configured to control the communication part based on a detection result from the detection part,
• wherein:
• in a case where the detection part detects the splice during the recording by the recording part, the control part performs control to cause the communication part to transmit information related to a discarded region that is a region of the continuous sheet, the region including the detected splice and not used as a deliverable;
• and
• the information related to the discarded region includes at least one of:
• in image data being recorded by the recording part,
• information on a portion that has been recorded;
• information on a portion where the recording has been suspended in response to the detection of the splice;
• and
• information on a portion where the recording has been resumed after the suspension in response to the detection of the splice.

A recording method for recording an image on a continuous sheet, the recording method comprising the steps of:

• detecting a splice that is a connecting portion of the continuous sheet;
• and
• recording, in a case where the splice is detected during the recording of the image, on the continuous sheet, information related to a discarded region that is a region of the continuous sheet, the region including the detected splice and not used as a deliverable,
• wherein the information related to the discarded region includes at least one of:
• in image data being recorded by the recording part,
• information on a portion that has been recorded;
• information on a portion where the recording has been suspended in response to the detection of the splice;
• and
• information on a portion where the recording has been resumed after the suspension in response to the detection of the splice.

A computer-readable storage medium storing:

• a program for causing a computer to execute each step of a recording method for recording an image on a continuous sheet,
• wherein:
• the recording method comprising the steps of:
• detecting a splice that is a connecting portion of the continuous sheet;
• and
• recording, in a case where the splice is detected during the recording of the image, on the continuous sheet, information related to a discarded region that is a region of the continuous sheet, the region including the detected splice and not used as a deliverable;
• and
• the information related to the discarded region includes at least one of:
• in image data being recorded by the recording part,
• information on a portion that has been recorded;
• information on a portion where the recording has been suspended in response to the detection of the splice;
• and
• information on a portion where the recording has been resumed after the suspension in response to the detection of the splice.
