Abstract
An interbody implant system for use in the spine includes a base comprising two or more bone contacting surfaces, at least one recess in at least one of the two or more bone contacting surfaces, the recess configured for containing a tooth, a deployable tooth to provide fixation between the base and the anatomy of a subject, a break-away bridge between the tooth and the base for providing a first relative position between the tooth and the base, and a locking mechanism for providing a second relative position between the tooth and the base.

A computer-implemented method for determining a spinal implant assembly for a patient, the computer-implemented method comprising:
- non-invasively identifying a correction for a spine of the patient by adjusting a virtual three-dimensional model of at least a portion of the spine of the patient;
- mapping, using the adjustable virtual three-dimensional model showing the correction, a negative space between a first vertebral body endplate of a first vertebral body and a second vertebral body endplate of a second vertebral body of the spine;
- identifying a three-dimensional shape that fits within the negative space;
- and
- determining, based on the three-dimensional shape, the spinal implant assembly, wherein the spinal implant assembly is configured to approximate the correction when the spinal implant assembly is implanted in the patient, and wherein the spinal implant assembly includes—
- an implant body having a size and/or shape based on the determined three-dimensional shape and configured to be implanted between the first vertebral body endplate and the second vertebral body endplate, and
- a fixation element configured to provide fixation between the implant body and at least one of the first or second vertebral bodies.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
- non-invasively identifying a correction for a spine of a patient by adjusting a virtual three-dimensional model of at least a portion of the spine of the patient;
- mapping, using the adjustable virtual three-dimensional model showing the correction, a negative space between a first vertebral body endplate of a first vertebral body and a second vertebral body endplate of a second vertebral body of the spine;
- identifying a three-dimensional shape that fits within the negative space;
- and
- determining, based on the three-dimensional shape, a spinal implant assembly, wherein the spinal implant assembly is configured to approximate the correction when the spinal implant assembly is implanted in the patient, and wherein the spinal implant assembly includes—
- an implant body having a size and/or shape based on the determined three-dimensional shape and configured to be implanted between the first vertebral body endplate and the second vertebral body endplate, and
- a fixation element configured to provide fixation between the implant body and at least one of the first or second vertebral bodies.
A system for determining a spinal implant assembly for a patient, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one non-transitory computer memory comprising instructions executable by the at least one processor for performing operations comprising:
- non-invasively identifying a correction for a spine of the patient by adjusting a virtual three-dimensional model of at least a portion of the spine of the patient,
- mapping, using the adjustable virtual three-dimensional model showing the correction, a negative space between a first vertebral body endplate of a first vertebral body and a second vertebral body endplate of a second vertebral body of the spine,
- identifying a three-dimensional shape that fits within the negative space, and
- determining, based on the three-dimensional shape, the spinal implant assembly, wherein the spinal implant assembly is configured to approximate the correction when the spinal implant assembly is implanted in the patient, and wherein the spinal implant assembly includes—
- an implant body having a size and/or shape based on the determined three-dimensional shape and configured to be implanted between the first vertebral body endplate and the second vertebral body endplate, and
- a fixation element configured to provide fixation between the implant body and at least one of the first or second vertebral bodies.
A spinal implant assembly for a patient determined using a process comprising:
- non-invasively identifying a correction for a spine of the patient by adjusting a virtual three-dimensional model of at least a portion of the spine of the patient;
- mapping, using the adjustable virtual three-dimensional model showing the correction, a negative space between a first vertebral body endplate of a first vertebral body and a second vertebral body endplate of a second vertebral body of the spine;
- identifying a three-dimensional shape that fits within the negative space;
- and
- determining, based on the three-dimensional shape, the spinal implant assembly, wherein the spinal implant assembly is configured to approximate the correction when the spinal implant assembly is implanted in the patient,
- wherein the spinal implant assembly includes—
- an implant body having a size and/or shape based on the determined three-dimensional shape and configured to be implanted between the first vertebral body endplate and the second vertebral body endplate, and
- a fixation element configured to provide fixation between the implant body and at least one of the first or second vertebral bodies.
