Abstract
Systems, devices, and methods are provided for the control of interfacing between applications that facilitate the monitoring of diabetes running on a mobile device, including the authentication of a third party user interface application by a sensor interface application. Control of the display of current analyte levels and critical events is also provided.

1-15. (canceled)
A system for monitoring an in vivo glucose level of a user with a sensor control device and a smart phone, the system comprising:
- (1) the sensor control device configured for attachment to a skin surface of the user via an adhesive patch, the sensor control device, comprising:
- a glucose sensor, a distal portion of which is configured to be transcutaneously positioned through the skin surface and in contact with interstitial fluid of the user;
- and
- electronics coupled with a proximal portion of the glucose sensor above the skin surface, the electronics configured to wirelessly communicate data indicative of a glucose level of the user to the smart phone;
- and
- (2) the smart phone, comprising:
- a display;
- at least one processor communicatively coupled with a non-transitory memory;
- and
- the non-transitory memory on which are stored a sensor interface application provided by a manufacturer of the sensor control device and a user interface application provided by a third party other than the manufacturer,
- wherein, when executed by the at least one processor, the sensor interface application causes the at least one processor to:
- collect the data indicative of the glucose level of the user from the sensor control device;
- determine whether the user interface application is approved for operation with the sensor interface application, and
- if the user interface application is approved, grant to the user interface application, access to the data indicative of the glucose level of the user collected by the sensor interface application from the sensor control device;
- and
- wherein, when executed by the at least one processor, the user interface application causes the at least one processor to cause display of the data indicative of the glucose level of the user on the display of the smart phone if the user interface application is approved for operation with the sensor interface application.
