• an upper, comprising:
• a textile element comprising a first surface and an opposite second surface, the first surface comprising a fusible yarn that is fused, the fusible yarn comprising a sheath and a core, wherein the sheath comprises a thermoplastic polymer material;
• and
• a sole structure secured to the upper.

An article of footwear, comprising:

• an upper, comprising:
• a textile element having a first surface and an opposite second surface, the first surface comprising a fusible yarn that is fused and a yarn that is not fused, the fusible yarn including a first portion comprising a thermoplastic polymer material and second portion formed of a material having a higher melting temperature than the thermoplastic polymer material;
• and
• a component that is bonded to the textile element;
• and
• a sole structure secured to the upper.
