A cooling arrangement for cooling a transformer

A cooling arrangement for cooling a transformer in a transformer tank, the cooling arrangement comprising:

• a transformer tank, to be at least partially filled with an electrically insulating fluid when in use,
• a transformer comprising at least one phase leg, which phase leg has windings coaxially arranged on a coil axis, the transformer being enclosed in the transformer tank and at least partly immersed in the fluid,
• at least one heat exchanger external to the transformer tank, the at least one heat exchanger being in fluid communication with the transformer tank and configured to receive heated fluid from the transformer tank and to supply cooled fluid to the transformer tank,
• a fluid discharge device arranged in the transformer tank and fluidly connected to the at least one heat exchanger to receive cooled fluid from the at least one heat exchanger and to discharge the cooled fluid inside the transformer tank, and
• a pump in fluid communication with the at least one heat exchanger and with the fluid discharge device and configured to pump cooled fluid from the at least one heat exchanger to the fluid discharge device,
• characterized in that the fluid discharge device comprises at least one Coandă effect fluid flow multiplier configured to discharge the cooled fluid along a discharge axis towards one or more of the windings of the at least one phase leg of the transformer.
