Authentication device, operation method of authentication device and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for authenticating user based on code and facial feature information

An operation method of an authentication device, the operation method comprising:

• acquiring an authentication code printed on an ID card possessed by a user, the authentication code representing first facial feature information extracted from a first facial image of the user, and acquiring a second facial image of the user;
• decoding the first facial feature information from the authentication code;
• extracting second facial feature information from the second facial image using the same algorithm as used in a case of extracting the first facial feature information from the first facial image;
• collating the first facial feature information with the second facial feature information;
• and
• performing a determination, based on a collation result, as to whether or not to authenticate the user as a legitimate user.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing an operation program for operating an authentication device, the operation program causing a computer to execute a process comprising:

• acquiring an authentication code printed on an ID card possessed by a user, the authentication code representing first facial feature information extracted from a first facial image of the user, and acquiring a second facial image of the user;
• decoding the first facial feature information from the authentication code;
• extracting second facial feature information from the second facial image using the same algorithm as used in a case of extracting the first facial feature information from the first facial image;
• collating the first facial feature information with the second facial feature information;
• and
• performing a determination, based on a collation result, as to whether or not to authenticate the user as a legitimate user.
