Designed in the present disclosure are a high-strength aluminum-erbium alloy for additive manufacturing and a preparation method therefor. The alloy comprises: 4-20 wt % of erbium (Er); 2-10 wt % of magnesium (Mg); less than or equal to 1 wt % of manganese (Mn); optionally, 0-1 wt % of scandium (Sc); and optionally, 0-1 wt % of zirconium (Zr). In the present disclosure, in order to improve both the formability and the mechanical properties of the alloy, based on alloy composition design assisted by a phase diagram calculation method, an Al—Er eutectic system is selected to reduce a solidification interval and form a fine grain phase, and therefore the technical effects of structure refinement, no thermal cracks and good printing performance are achieved; and in particular, a continuous cellular FCC configuration Al3Er eutectic network structure with a plastic deformation capability is introduced, with a size in the order of hundreds of nanometers, and therefore both strengthening and toughening effects are achieved. The aluminum-erbium alloy has both good printing formability and comprehensive mechanical properties, and the preparation method therefor is proven, has low costs and high efficiency, and can be used for large-scale industrial production.
