Abstract
There is provided a valve assembly for dispensing foodstuff. The valve assembly includes an annular valve seat. The valve assembly includes a downwardly-facing conduit coupled to the valve seat. The conduit has one or more radially-extending apertures extending therethrough. The valve assembly includes a valve positioned within the valve seat. The valve includes a sealing ring which extends about the conduit so as to inhibit passage of foodstuff therethrough. Actuation of the valve dislodges the sealing ring from the conduit and enables foodstuff to move radially inwards therewithin via the one or more apertures and thereafter downwards so as to exit from the conduit.
Claims20
A valve assembly for dispensing foodstuff, the valve assembly comprising:
- an annular valve seat;
- a downwardly-facing conduit coupled to the valve seat and having one or more radially-extending apertures extending therethrough;
- and
- a valve positioned within the valve seat, the valve including a sealing ring which extends about the conduit so as to inhibit passage of foodstuff therethrough, whereby actuation of the valve dislodges the sealing ring from the conduit and enables foodstuff to move via the one or more apertures, radially inwards therewithin and thereafter downwards so as to exit from the conduit.
A valve assembly for dispensing foodstuff, the valve assembly comprising:
- a rigid valve member including a planar portion, including a centrally-positioned tubular portion with a closed top, an open bottom and one or more radially-extending apertures between the top and bottom thereof, and including an upwardly-facing annular recessed portion between the planar and tubular portions thereof;
- and
- a resilient valve member including upper and lower end portions which abut the planar and annular recessed portions of the rigid valve member, respectively, including a first tubular portion which extends about and covers the one or more apertures of the tubular portion of the rigid valve member in a closed position thereof, and including a second tubular portion which is upwardly flared and extends between the upper end and first tubular portions thereof, wherein the second tubular portion of the resilient valve member and the tubular portion of the rigid valve member form a first annular space within which foodstuff is receivable, and wherein actuation of the valve assembly causes the first tubular portion of the resilient valve member to angle outwards from the tubular portion of the rigid valve member so as to form a second annular space therebetween, enabling foodstuff from the first annular space to pass through the second annular space and then, via the one or more apertures, radially-inwards into and then downwards from the tubular portion of the rigid valve member.
A valve assembly for dispensing foodstuff, the assembly comprising:
- a lid including a laterally-extending annular flange portion, a downwardly-facing receptacle with one or more radially-extending apertures extending therethrough, and an annular upwardly-facing receptacle extending between the annular flange member and downwardly-facing receptacle thereof;
- a removable valve including a tubular portion seated within the upwardly-facing receptacle and extending about the one or more apertures of the downwardly-facing receptacle, and including a flange portion which overlays the flange portion of the lid;
- and
- a removable insert including a flange portion interposed between the flange portions of the lid and valve and including a tubular portion which biases a distal end portion of the valve downwards against the upwardly-facing receptacle and radially-inwards against the downwardly-facing receptacle so as to inhibit movement thereof while permitting selective actuation radially outwards of the tubular portion of the valve when the valve assembly is actuated.
