Abstract
A controller of a hybrid vehicle performs an area driving support control that switches to a motor driving mode and performs motor driving when driving in a motor driving area that has been set in advance as an area where the motor should drive. The controller is programmed to stop the area driving support control and to drive in a normal driving mode when a driving mode selection switch is operated while driving in the motor driving area by the area driving support control.

A hybrid vehicle comprising:
- an engine capable of outputting power for driving;
- a motor capable of outputting power for driving:
- a power storage device capable of exchanging electric power with the motor;
- a controller that is programmed to control the engine and the motor by switching between a motor driving mode in which the engine is stopped and the vehicle is driven by the power from the motor, and a normal driving mode in which the vehicle is driven by the power from the engine and the power from the motor as necessary, and to perform an area driving support control that switches to a motor driving mode and performs motor driving when driving in a motor driving area that has been set in advance as an area where the motor should drive;
- the hybrid vehicle is characterized by:
- the controller is programmed to stop the area driving support control and to drive in the normal driving mode when a driving mode selection switch is operated while driving motor driving area in the motor driving mode by the area driving support control.
