Abstract
In a printing apparatus, an ink tank holds ink to be supplied to a print head. Ink can be replenished in the ink tank by a plurality of types of ink bottles of different ink capacities for the same color of ink. A management unit manages information for an ink consumption amount, which is an amount of ink consumed in the ink tank. An updating unit updates the information for the ink consumption amount based on an ink capacity corresponding to an ink bottle used to replenish ink among the plurality of types of ink bottles.

1-17. (canceled)
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a tank holding printing material;
- an image forming unit forming an image using the printing material held in the tank;
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the image forming apparatus to:
- cause an external apparatus to display a screen for receiving a user operation to specify a remaining amount of the printing material held in the tank;
- and
- notify of information for the remaining amount of the printing material based on information on the remaining amount of the printing material specified with the user operation and information on an amount of the printing material consumed by the image forming unit.
A control method for controlling an image forming apparatus comprising a tank holding printing material and an image forming unit forming an image using the printing material held in the tank, the control method comprising:
- causing an external apparatus to display a screen for receiving a user operation to specify a remaining amount of the printing material held in the tank;
- and
- notifying of information for the remaining amount of the printing material based on information on the remaining amount of the printing material specified with the user operation and information on an amount of the printing material consumed by the image forming unit.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program that, when executed by a computer, causes the computer to perform a control method for an image forming apparatus comprising a tank holding printing material and an image forming unit forming an image using the printing material held in the tank, the control method comprising:
- causing an external apparatus to display a screen for receiving a user operation to specify a remaining amount of the printing material held in the tank;
- and
- notifying of information for the remaining amount of the printing material based on information on the remaining amount of the printing material specified with the user operation and information on an amount of the printing material consumed by the image forming unit.
