Abstract
Manifolds for water filters and refrigerators with such manifolds. The manifold includes a channel or shaft, and a tube located within that channel or shaft. The tube has a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end of the tube includes a bridge that extends toward the inside of the tube from a distal wall portion of the tube. In exemplary embodiments, the bridge extends across the inside of the tube from one part of the distal wall to another part of the distal wall. In other exemplary embodiments, a projection extends distally from a proximal wall of the manifold toward the distal end of the tube, the projection being present at the midpoint of the distance between a point on the tube and an opposite wall.
Claims19
A refrigerator having a manifold for a water filter positioned in an interior of the refrigerator, the manifold comprising:
- a shaft;
- a tube inside the shaft, the tube having a wall, a distal end, and a proximal end, the distal end of the tube having at least a distal wall portion that is positioned farther away from the proximal end than another second wall portion;
- and
- a bridge extending toward an inside of the tube from the distal wall portion, the bridge being present at the midpoint of the distance between a point on the distal wall portion of the tube and an opposite wall.
A refrigerator having a manifold for a water filter positioned in an interior of the refrigerator, the manifold comprising:
- a shaft;
- a tube inside the shaft, the tube having a wall, a distal end, and a proximal end, the distal end of the tube having a plurality of distal wall portions that are positioned farther away from the proximal end than a plurality of intermediate wall portions;
- and
- a bridge extending toward an inside of the tube from one of the plurality of distal wall portions, the bridge being present at the midpoint of the distance between the one distal wall portion of the tube and an opposite other one of the plurality of distal wall portions of the tube.
A manifold for a water filter, the manifold comprising:
- a shaft;
- a tube inside the shaft, the tube having a wall, a distal end, and a proximal end;
- and
- a projection extending distally toward the distal end of the tube, the projection being present at the midpoint of the distance between a point on the tube and an opposite wall.
A manifold for a water filter, the manifold comprising:
- a shaft;
- a tube inside the shaft and having a central longitudinal axis;
- and
- a piece extending into the tube to prevent a component of a filter from entering a point of the region of the tube's central longitudinal axis.
