A fitness toy and a fitness method are disclosed. The fitness toy includes a first sliding assembly comprising a first base and a first pulley block, and a second sliding assembly comprising a second base and a second pulley block. The first base and second base are connected and spaced apart, with the rotation axis of the first pulley block perpendicular to that of the second pulley block. A rope assembly is threaded between the first base and second base. The first and second pulley blocks are configured to roll along the rope assembly, such that the sliding assemblies reciprocate between ends of the rope. The configuration improves movement smoothness between the sliding assemblies and rope assembly, reduces lagging, and enhances user experience. The second sliding assembly is further configured to mount a weight adjustment assembly, allowing a user to select weights for muscle training, fat burning, and entertainment.
