Abstract
A method for producing an annular sealing device in which an inner face of a slinger with which a lip piece slidably contacts is widely roughened and a result of roughness on the slinger is uniformized is proposed. The slinger includes a first cylindrical portion and a disk portion which are provided for fitting to one of two members, and has a recessed space as an outer frame defined by the first cylindrical portion and the disk portion, the recessed space being opposite to the core member portion. In the surface treatment step, a projection material is projected to a surface on a recessed space side at different projection angles.

A method for producing a sealing device, the sealing device comprising a core member portion to be fitted and fixed to one of two members which relatively rotate in a concentric manner and a slinger to be fitted and fixed to another of the two members, the sealing device being in an annular shape,
- the method comprising at least a surface treatment step in which a projection material collides with the slinger,
- wherein the sealing device comprises a seal lip portion which performs relative rotational motion while being in contact with or non-contact with the slinger and is made of an elastic material, the slinger comprising a first cylindrical portion and a disk portion which are provided for fitting to one of the two members, the slinger comprising a recessed space as an outer frame which is defined by the first cylindrical portion and the disk portion, the recessed space being opposite to the core member portion, and
- wherein in the surface treatment step, the projection material is projected to a surface on a recessed space side of the slinger at different projection angles.
