Abstract
A cleansing and conditioning composition, free from silicones and free from sulfate-based surfactants, is disclosed comprising: (a) a plurality of non-sulfate anionic surfactants, the plurality of non-sulfate anionic surfactants comprising one or more isethionate surfactants and one or more amino acid surfactants; (b) one or more amphoteric surfactants; (c) one or more nonionic surfactants, wherein at least one of the one or more nonionic surfactant is an alkoxylated nonionic surfactant (d) one or more cationic guar compounds; and (e) water. The cleansing composition is particularly effective as a conditioning shampoo, useful for shampooing and conditioning the hair.
Claims19
A cleansing composition comprising:
- (a) about 2 to about 20 wt. % of a plurality of non-sulfate anionic surfactants, the plurality of non-sulfate anionic surfactants comprising:
- (a)(i) about 1 to about 10 wt. % of one or more isethionate surfactants;
- and
- (a)(ii) about 1 to about 10 wt. % of one or more amino acid surfactants;
- (b) about 2 to about 10 wt. % of one or more amphoteric surfactants;
- (c) about 0.1 to about 5 wt. % of one or more nonionic surfactants, wherein at least one of the one or more nonionic surfactant is an alkoxylated nonionic surfactant;
- (d) about 0.1 to about 3 wt. % of one or more cationic guar compounds;
- and
- (e) about 60 to about 90 wt. % of water;
- wherein the composition is substantially free from sulfate-based anionic surfactants, substantially free from silicones, and all percentages by weight are based on a total weight of the cleansing composition.
A cleansing composition comprising:

- and
- (a)(iii) optionally, one or more additional non-sulfate anionic surfactants
- (b) about 2 to about 10 wt. % of one or more amphoteric surfactants selected from betaine surfactants, sultaine surfactants, amphopropionate surfactants, and amphoacetate surfactants;
- (c) about 0.1 to about 5 wt. % of a plurality of nonionic surfactants, the plurality of nonionic surfactants comprising:
- (c)(i) about 0.1 to about 2 wt. % of one or more alkoxylated alkanolamide surfactants;
- (c)(ii) about 0.1 to about 2 wt. % of one or more non-alkoxylated alkanolamide surfactants;
