This disclosure relates to hydrosilylation (addition) curable silicone rubber compositions, to silicone elastomeric materials with an improved high temperature (e.g., 175° C.) compression set in accordance with ISO 815-1 method A which are produced by curing the silicone rubber compositions, and to a method for preparing the silicone elastomeric materials. This disclosure also relates to uses for such materials. A silicone rubber composition comprises: (a) one or more polyorganosiloxanes having at least two unsaturated groups and a viscosity of from 1,000 to 100,000 mPa·s at 25° C.; (b) an organosilicon compound having Si—H groups; (c) a silica reinforcing filler; (d) a hydrosilylation catalyst; (e) a compression set additive selected from: (i) a phthalocyanine compound or a metal derivative of such a compound, and optionally (ii) one or more compounds selected from a diacylhydrazide-based compound; and (f) one or more of magnesium hydroxide, a magnesium carbonate, a magnesium hydroxy carbonate, or manganese carbonate.
