Abstract
A method of forming a multilayer environmental barrier coating, comprising: providing a ceramic matrix composite; depositing a bond coat layer on the ceramic matrix composite; depositing a top coat layer on the bond coat layer; depositing an over coat layer on the top coat layer, wherein the over coat layer includes no more than approximately 50 percent by volume of porosity.
Claims29
A method of forming a multilayer environmental barrier coating, comprising:
- providing a ceramic matrix composite;
- depositing a bond coat layer on the ceramic matrix composite;
- depositing a top coat layer on the bond coat layer;
- depositing an over coat layer on the top coat layer, wherein the over coat layer includes no more than approximately 50 percent by volume of porosity.
1 more element
A gas turbine engine component, comprising:
- a ceramic matrix composite substrate having a multilayer environmental barrier coating deposited within and thereupon,
- the multilayer environmental barrier coating comprises:
- a bond coat;
- a top coat adjacent the bond coat and opposite the ceramic matrix composite substrate;
- an over coat adjacent the top coat and opposite the bond coat, the overcoat includes no more than approximately 50 percent by volume of porosity.
2 more elements
A gas turbine engine, comprising:
- at least one gas turbine engine component including a ceramic matrix composite substrate having a multilayer environmental barrier coating deposited within and thereupon,
- the multilayer environmental barrier coating comprises:
- a bond coat;
- a top coat adjacent the bond coat and opposite the ceramic matrix composite substrate;
- an over coat adjacent the top coat and opposite the bond coat, the overcoat includes no more than 50 percent by volume of porosity.
