Method for drying a digital printing plate for flexography

Abstract

A method and apparatus are provided for drying a flexographic plate previously subjected to washing with a water-based or solvent-based liquid. The method involves providing a support member made of a thermo-conductive material, wherein the support member comprises at least a first main surface adapted to allow the support of the plate to be dried. The method involves positioning the plate to be dried on the support element so that a base face of the plate rests on the first main surface. The method further provides the step of heating the support element to a preestablished temperature so that the thermal energy supplied to the support element is transferred by conduction to the plate resting on the support element so as to cause evaporation of residual liquid contained in the plate. The apparatus is provided for carrying out the drying method.
