Abstract
The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for delivery of therapeutic gas to patients, using techniques to compensate for disruptions in breathing gas flow measurement, such as when breathing gas flow measurement is unavailable or unreliable. Such techniques include using historical breathing gas flow rate data, such as moving average flow rates, moving median flow rates and/or flow waveforms. At least some of these techniques can be used to ensure that interruption in therapeutic gas delivery is minimized or eliminated.

A controller for a therapeutic gas delivery device comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor communicatively coupled to the memory, the at least one processor configured to:
- receive, from one or more breathing gas flow sensors in communication with a breathing circuit, breathing gas flow rate data;
- store, in the memory, historical breathing gas flow rate data;
- detect a disruption in the breathing gas flow rate data;
- and
- upon detection of the disruption, control a delivery flow rate of therapeutic gas to the breathing circuit based on the historical breathing gas flow rate data.
A controller for a therapeutic gas delivery device comprising:
- a memory;

- receive, from one or more therapeutic gas flow sensors in communication with a breathing circuit, therapeutic gas flow rate data;
- receive, from one or more breathing gas flow sensors in communication with the breathing circuit, breathing gas flow rate data;
- store, in the memory, historical therapeutic gas flow rate data;
- detect a disruption in the breathing gas flow rate data;
- and
- upon detection of the disruption, control a delivery flow rate of therapeutic gas to the breathing circuit based on the historical therapeutic gas flow rate data.
A controller for a therapeutic gas delivery device comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor communicatively coupled to the memory, the at least one processor configured to:
- receive, from one or more breathing gas flow sensors in communication with a breathing circuit, breathing gas flow rate data;
- receive, from a user input, one or more commanded or input controlled flow rates;
- store, in the memory, one or more historical commanded or input controlled flow rates;
- detect a disruption in the breathing gas flow rate data;
- and
- upon detection of the disruption, control a delivery flow rate of therapeutic gas to the breathing circuit based on the one or more historical commanded or input controlled flow rates.
