Abstract
The present disclosure provides, inter alia, compositions and methods for intranasal delivery of carnosine.
Claims30
A method of treating or ameliorating a neurological condition in a subject in need thereof comprising administering intranasally to the subject an effective amount of a composition comprising:
- carnosine;
- carboxymethylcellulose (CMC);
- cyclodextrin (CD);
- and
- a non-ionic surfactant;
- wherein the carnosine, CMC, CD, and non-ionic surfactant are effective to produce a stable population of particles wherein 80% of the particles are 50 μm or less in diameter.
3 more elements
A method for delivery of carnosine to the central nervous system of a subject by intranasal administration comprising the step of:
- providing to the subject a compositions comprising carnosine;
- carboxymethylcellulose (CMC);
- cyclodextrin (CD);
- and
- a non-ionic surfactant;
- wherein the carnosine, CMC, CD, and non-ionic surfactant are effective to produce a stable population of particles wherein 80% of the particles are 10 μm or less in diameter.
3 more elements
An intranasal spray formulation comprising:
- a carnosine;
- a carboxymethylcellulose (CMC);
- a cyclodextrin (CD);
- and
- a surfactant;
- wherein the carnosine and cyclodextrin form an inclusion complex and are encapsulated by the surfactant;
- wherein the carnosine, CMC, CD, and surfactant are effective to produce a stable population of particles.
