Abstract
An operating rod is movable in an axial direction relative to an axle between a wheel lock position, in which a wheel lock member is positioned at the engaging position, and a wheel lock release position, in which the wheel lock member is allowed to move to the release position. The operating rod is pushed from the wheel lock release position toward the wheel lock position by an elastic force of the first elastic member and is movable from the wheel lock position to the wheel lock release position by a pushing force applied by a user. The stopper member engages with the operating rod when the operating rod is positioned in the wheel lock release position and retains the operating rod at the wheel lock release position against the elastic force of the first elastic member .
Claims13
A wheel of an electric wheelchair, where the wheel is attachable to and detachable from a vehicle body of the electric wheelchair, the wheel comprising:
- a cylindrical axle to be fitted into a cylindrical support portion provided in the vehicle body;
- an operating rod that is inserted in the cylindrical axle;
- a first elastic member;
- a wheel lock member that is movable in a radial direction of the cylindrical axle between an engaging position, in which the wheel lock member engages with the cylindrical support portion, and a release position, in which the wheel lock member does not engage with the cylindrical support portion;
- and
- a stopper member, wherein
- the operating rod is movable in an axial direction relative to the cylindrical axle between a wheel lock position, in which the wheel lock member is positioned in the engaging position, and a wheel lock release position, in which the wheel lock member is allowed to move to the release position,
- the operating rod is pushed from the wheel lock release position toward the wheel lock position by an elastic force of the first elastic member and is movable from the wheel lock position to the wheel lock release position by a pushing force applied by a user, and
- the stopper member engages with the operating rod when the operating rod is positioned in the wheel lock release position and retains the operating rod in the wheel lock release position against the elastic force of the first elastic member.
An electric wheelchair comprising
- a wheel, where the wheel is attachable to and detachable from a vehicle body of the electric wheelchair, the wheel comprising:
- a cylindrical axle to be fitted into a cylindrical support portion provided in the vehicle body;
- an operating rod that is inserted in the cylindrical axle;
- a first elastic member;
- a wheel lock member that is movable in a radial direction of the cylindrical axle between an engaging position, in which the wheel lock member engages with the cylindrical support portion, and a release position, in which the wheel lock member does not engage with the cylindrical support portion;
- and
- a stopper member, wherein
