A powered rocking or gliding furniture piece includes a base frame and a movable furniture assembly. The movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece is configured to rock or glide about the base frame. A powered motor or linear actuator is affixed to the base frame. A connecting member is on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece. Linkage is connected between the powered motor or linear actuator affixed to the base frame and the connecting member on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece. The linkage is configured to translate movement from the powered motor or linear actuator to the movable furniture assembly for rocking or gliding the movable furniture assembly about the base frame.

A powered rocking or gliding furniture piece comprising:
- a base frame;
- a movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece, the movable furniture assembly is configured to rock or glide about the base frame;
- a powered motor or linear actuator, the powered motor or linear actuator is affixed to the base frame;
- a connecting member on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece;
- and
- linkage connected between the powered motor or linear actuator affixed to the base frame and the connecting member on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece, the linkage is configured to translate movement from the powered motor or linear actuator to the movable furniture assembly for rocking or gliding the movable furniture assembly about the base frame.
A powered gliding furniture piece comprising:
- a base frame;
- a movable furniture assembly of the powered gliding furniture piece, the movable furniture assembly is configured to glide about the base frame;
- a powered motor or linear actuator, the powered motor or linear actuator is affixed to the base frame;
- a connecting member on the movable furniture assembly of the powered gliding furniture piece;
- and
- linkage connected between the powered motor or linear actuator affixed to the base frame and the connecting member on the movable furniture assembly of the powered gliding furniture piece, the linkage is configured to translate movement from the powered motor or linear actuator to the movable furniture assembly for gliding the movable furniture assembly about the base frame.
A powered rocking furniture piece comprising:
- a base frame;
- a movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking furniture piece, the movable furniture assembly is configured to rock about the base frame;
- a powered motor or linear actuator, the powered motor or linear actuator is affixed to the base frame;
