Abstract
A vehicle controller outputs a speed demand to a master inverter system and one or more slave inverter systems. The master inverter system is configured to generate a ‘master torque’ output for driving a first electrical machine based on the speed demand from the vehicle controller and data indicating the speed of the first electrical machine, and the one or more slave inverter systems are configured to generate a respective ‘slave torque’ output for driving a respective electrical machine based on the speed demand from the vehicle controller.
Claims21
A control system for a vehicle comprising an electrical machine:
- a vehicle controller for outputting a speed demand for two or more electrical machines;
- a master inverter system coupled to the vehicle controller and configured to generate a master torque output for driving a first electrical machine, the master inverter system comprising a master speed controller for generating a master torque demand based on the speed demand from the vehicle controller and data indicating a speed of the first electrical machine;
- and a torque controller for generating the master torque output to drive the first electrical machine based on the master torque demand;
- one or more slave inverter systems coupled to the vehicle controller and configured to generate a respective slave torque output for driving a respective electrical machine, each of the slave inverter systems comprising:
- a slave model configured to output a respective slave torque demand based on the speed demand from the vehicle controller;
- and a slave torque controller for generating the respective slave torque output to drive the respective electrical machine based on the respective slave torque demand.
