Abstract
An apparatus for safely viewing a solar eclipse is provided. The apparatus comprises a durable frame made from materials such as titanium or tungsten, ensuring longevity for reuse across multiple eclipse events. The frame includes left and right lens assemblies connected by an adjustable nose bridge. An adjustment mechanism, such as a rack and pinion system controlled by a screw knob, allows for the lateral adjustment of the lens assemblies to provide a custom fit for any user. Extremely dark tinted lenses, compliant with the ISO 12312-2 safety standard, are secured in the lens assemblies to protect the wearer's eyes. The apparatus further includes side shields to block peripheral light and a padded interior surface for enhanced comfort and a light-tight seal against the wearer's face.
