The present invention provides a converter unit (100) for convert a hardened connector (50) with small diameter into another hardened connector with large diameter such that the same hardened connector (50) compatible with two different types of fiber terminals i.e. small sized (new generation box) and large sized (old generation box). The converter unit (100) comprises an arrester unit (102) mounted over the small sized hardened connector via threaded lock, a shroud unit (104) coupled to the arrester unit (102) and a coupling nut (108) encapsulated over the shroud unit (104) to exhibit rotational and transaction movement over the shroud unit (104). Further, a first end (110) of the coupling nut (108) is restrained by the arrester (104) and a second end (112) of the coupling nut (108) being restricted by a shoulder (106) provided on the shroud unit (104).
