Abstract
A method for compensating for dynamic changes in a body of a patient during a controlled interaction with the body includes acquiring data from at least one sensing device disposed on the body and detecting a change along at least one optical fiber of the sensing device caused by dynamic changes associated with the body during the controlled interaction. A respiratory gating signal is generated based on the change along the at least one optical fiber of the sensing device measured over time. The method further comprises controlling relative movement between the body and an interactive device in response to the respiratory gating signal to compensate for the dynamic changes associated with the body during the controlled interaction.
Claims27
A method of compensating for dynamic changes in a body of a patient during a controlled interaction with a target region of the body, the method comprising:
- acquiring image data of the target region from a scanning device;
- acquiring wavelength data from a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing device disposed on the body;
- defining motion data associated with the target region based on the image data and effective shifts of Bragg wavelengths in the wavelength data caused by body movement during the acquiring of the image data;
- and
- controlling an interactive device to perform the controlled interaction with the target region based on the motion data and effective shifts of the Bragg wavelengths in wavelength data from the FBG sensing device caused by body movement during the controlled interaction.
A method of compensating for dynamic changes in a body of a patient during a controlled interaction with a target region of the body, the method comprising:
- acquiring image data of the target region from a scanning device;
- defining motion data associated with the target region based on the image data and effective shifts of Bragg wavelengths in wavelength data from a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing device disposed on the body, the effective shifts being caused by body movement during the acquiring of the image data;
- and
- performing the controlled interaction with the target region based on the motion data and effective shifts of Bragg wavelengths in wavelength data from the FBG sensing device caused by body movement during the controlled interaction.
A method of compensating for dynamic changes in a body of a patient during a controlled interaction with a target region of the body, the method comprising:
- acquiring image data of the target region from a scanning device;
- acquiring, during the acquiring of the image data, wavelength data from a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing device disposed on the body;
- defining motion data associated with the target region based on the image data and effective shifts of Bragg wavelengths in the wavelength data caused by dynamic changes associated with the body during the acquiring of the image data;
- and
- controlling an interactive device, based on the motion data and effective shifts of Bragg wavelengths in wavelength data from the FBG sensing device, to compensate for dynamic changes associated with the body during the controlled interaction.
