Abstract
A hinge system for a foldable ramp, the hinge system comprising: a hinge body comprising a first hinge element, a second hinge element and a bridge portion interposed between the hinge elements; a first ramp connector comprising a first channel and a first engagement portion; and a second ramp connector comprising a second channel and a second engagement portion; wherein the hinge body is interposed between the ramp connectors with the first hinge element pivotably received in the first channel and the second hinge element pivotably received in the second channel such that the hinge system is pivotable between an unfolded configuration and a folded configuration.
Claims17
A hinge system for a foldable ramp, the hinge system comprising:
- a hinge body comprising a first hinge element, a second hinge element and a bridge portion interposed between the hinge elements;
- a first ramp connector comprising a first channel and a first engagement portion;
- and
- a second ramp connector comprising a second channel and a second engagement portion;
- wherein the hinge body is interposed between the ramp connectors with the first hinge element pivotably received in the first channel and the second hinge element pivotably received in the second channel such that the hinge system is pivotable between an unfolded configuration and a folded configuration;
- wherein the hinge body further comprises a stabiliser portion depending from the bridge portion, the stabiliser portion comprising a first stabiliser element and a second stabiliser element such that, in the unfolded configuration, the first stabiliser element engages with the first engagement portion and the second stabiliser element engages with the second engagement portion to restrict relative translational movement of the ramp connectors.
