Abstract
The invention is a fastening device that attaches an interior band board to an exterior band board. The fastening device includes a plate defined by first and second opposed edges. A head is permanently attached to the plate at the first edge of the plate. An extending arm is positioned adjacent to the plate second end and is configured to span the thickness of the band boards in use. The fastening device advantageously will stay in position without the use of exterior nuts and washers. As a result, when the exterior deck band and joist are replaced, the homeowner is saved the cost, time, and demolition and repair of the interior of the home.
