Fastener Installation Set and Installation Method

An installation set for installing a fastener in a structure, the installation set comprising:

• an installation nose including
• a hollow body, extending along a main axis, a rear end of the hollow body comprising a flange;
• and
• a first movable element accommodated in the hollow body and movable relative to said hollow body;
• the first movable element being able to cooperate with the fastener;
• an installation tool including
• a tool housing comprising an open front end and a rear end, aligned along the main axis;
• a second movable element, extending into the tool housing and movable in rotation and/or translation relative to the tool housing;
• the second movable element being assembled to the first movable element, so as to drive said first movable element in translation and/or rotation;
• an electric motor;
• an output shaft of said motor;
• and an electrical circuit connected to the motor;
• the electrical circuit comprising a switch movable between an open state and a closed state;
• a transmission device accommodated in the tool housing and connected to the output shaft, the transmission device being able to drive the second movable element in rotation and/or translation under the effect of rotation of the output shaft;
• and
• an electrical power supply for the motor, connected to the electrical circuit;
• and an interface device including
• an annular-shaped interface body positioned along the main axis, the interface body comprising:
• a front face, substantially perpendicular to the main axis;
• and a through hole, parallel to the main axis and opening onto the front face;
• at least one first compression spring, fastened to the interface body and projecting relative to the front face;
• a contact rod, able to slide in the through hole of the interface body and extending between a front end and a rear end, the rear end being able to actuate the switch of the electrical circuit to the closed state or to the open state;
• and
• an assembly ring, assembled to the interface body and positioned along the main axis, the assembly ring comprising:
• a shoulder, substantially perpendicular to the main axis;
• and an internal cavity, axially delimited by said shoulder and by the front face of the interface body;
• wherein the interface body is fastened to the front end of the tool housing of the installation tool and the assembly ring being assembled to the rear end of the hollow body of the installation nose;
• the flange of the hollow body being accommodated in the internal cavity of the assembly ring;
• a front end of the first spring being in contact with said flange;
• wherein the installation set has a first configuration, where the flange of the hollow body of the installation nose is in contact with the shoulder of the assembly ring;
• the front end of the contact rod projects axially relative to the front face of the interface body;
• the first spring is in a first state of compression;
• and the switch is open;
• and
• wherein the installation set has a first configuration, where the flange of the hollow body of the installation nose is in contact with the front face of the interface body;
• the front end of the contact rod is in contact with said flange;
• the first spring is in a second state of compression, more compressed than the first state;
• and the switch is closed.
