Abstract
Systems and methods for controlling a mobile defibrillator (AED) unit are provided.
Claims21
1-20. (canceled)
A method, performed by one or more processors of a device capable of running an application, for controlling a mobile defibrillator (AED) unit operatively connected to the device, the method comprising:
- detecting a connection of the mobile AED unit to the device, the mobile AED comprising one or more electrodes connected to a subject;
- receiving EKG measurements of the subject recorded by the one or more electrodes;
- receiving measured chest movement data by measuring movements of a chest of the subject;
- analyzing the chest movement data to determine a breathing pattern of the subject, wherein analyzing the chest movement data to determine the breathing pattern of the subject comprises:
- modeling the movements of the chest;
- and
- analyzing a breathing frequency;
- determining that the breathing pattern is a non-normal breathing pattern;
- based on the determined non-normal breathing pattern and the EKG measurements, determining that an electrical shock should be administered;
- determining that the subject is unconscious;
- and
- in response to determining that the subject is unconscious, administering the electrical shock to the subject.

A computing device comprising one or more processors and configured to operatively connect to and control a mobile defibrillator (AED) unit, wherein the computing device is configured to, via the one or more processors:
- detect a connection of the mobile AED unit to the device, the mobile AED comprising one or more electrodes connected to a subject;
- receive EKG measurements of the subject recorded by the one or more electrodes;
- receive measured chest movement data by measuring movements of a chest of the subject;
- analyze the chest movement data to determine a breathing pattern of the subject, wherein analyzing the chest movement data to determine the breathing pattern of the subject comprises:
- modeling the movements of the chest;
- and
- analyzing a breathing frequency;
- determine that the breathing pattern is a non-normal breathing pattern;
- based on the determined non-normal breathing pattern and the EKG measurements, determine that an electrical shock should be administered;
- determine that the subject is unconscious;
- and
- in response to determining that the subject is unconscious, administer the electrical shock to the subject.
