Abstract
An implantable drug delivery device includes a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an elongate portion disposed between the proximal portion and the distal portion. The proximal portion is angled, relative to the elongate portion. The distal portion is angled, relative to the elongate portion. The drug delivery device is configured for insertion into a punctum of an eye, such that at least the distal portion and the elongate portion fully reside in the punctum of the eye when the drug delivery device is inserted.
Claims20
A punctal plug comprising:
- a proximal end,
- a distal end, and
- a flex region comprising a flexible material including at least one polymer selected from a group consisting of a silicone, a polyurethane, a hydrogel, and a copolymer,
- wherein the punctal plug is configured to be bendable at the flex region between a straight configuration and an angled configuration,
- wherein the punctal plug is configured for insertion into a punctum of an eye.
An implantable drug delivery system comprising:
- a punctal plug including:
- a proximal end,
- a distal end, and
- a flex region comprising a flexible material including at least one polymer selected from a group consisting of a silicone, a polyurethane, a hydrogel, and a copolymer,
- wherein the punctal plug is configured to be bendable at the flex region between a straight configuration and an angled configuration,
- wherein the punctal plug is configured for insertion into a punctum of an eye.
