Abstract

A method for updating a Content Management System (CMS)-agnostic content inventory comprises obtaining from a client device a content item comprising a location identifier and properties, wherein each property is descriptive information regarding the content item, wherein the client device is used by a user accessing a webpage served by a CMS having a content inventory separate from the CMS-agnostic content inventory. The method further comprises retrieving from the CMS-agnostic content inventory a pre-existing content item characterized by the location identifier. The method also comprises, in response to determining that the properties of the content item differ, at least partially, from corresponding properties of the pre-existing content item, updating the pre-existing content item.

Dependent claims

A method for updating a Content Management System (CMS)-agnostic content inventory, the method comprising:

obtaining from a client device a content item, the content item comprises a location identifier and one or more properties, wherein each of the one or more properties is a descriptive information regarding the content item, wherein the client device is used by a user accessing a webpage, the webpage is served by a CMS, the CMS having a content inventory that is separate and distinct from the CMS-agnostic content inventory;
retrieving from the CMS-agnostic content inventory a pre-existing content item that is characterized by comprising the location identifier of the content item;
and
in response to a determination that the one or more properties of the content item are different, at least partially, from corresponding one or more properties of the pre-existing content item, updating the pre-existing content item.
