Abstract
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, a charging roller having a surface layer with a volume resistivity of 1× 108 Ω·cm or more and 1×1014 Ω·cm or less, the charging roller charging the photosensitive member, and a power supply that applies a DC voltage to the charging roller. In the image forming apparatus, an inflow current to the photosensitive member is 0.40 mC/m2 or more and 1.0 mC/m2 or less when the photosensitive member is charged by the charging roller.

An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a photosensitive member;
- a charging roller having a surface layer with a volume resistivity of 1×108 Ω·cm or more and 1×1014 Ω·cm or less, the charging roller charging the photosensitive member;
- and
- a power supply that applies a DC voltage to the charging roller, wherein
- an inflow current to the photosensitive member is 0.40 mC/m2 or more and 1.0 mC/m2 or less when the photosensitive member is charged by the charging roller.
