Abstract

A process unit includes a rotatable image bearing member, a charging roller configured to come in contact with a surface of the image bearing member and to charge the surface, a shaft-supporting member configured to rotatably support the charging roller, and a brush unit including a brush and a holding member configured to hold the brush, the brush including a brush substrate and brush bristles, the brush bristles protruding from the brush substrate and configured to come into contact with a surface of the charging roller, wherein the holding member includes a regulation portion configured to abut the shaft-supporting member such that a position of the holding member is regulated by abutment between the regulation portion and the shaft-supporting member.

Dependent claims

A process unit comprising:

a rotatable image bearing member;
a charging roller configured to come in contact with a surface of the image bearing member and to charge the surface;
a shaft-supporting member configured to rotatably support the charging roller;
and
a brush unit including a brush and a holding member configured to hold the brush, the brush including a brush substrate and brush bristles, the brush bristles protruding from the brush substrate and configured to come into contact with a surface of the charging roller,
wherein the holding member includes a regulation portion configured to abut the shaft-supporting member such that a position of the holding member is regulated by abutment between the regulation portion and the shaft-supporting member.

a charging roller configured to come in contact with a surface of the image bearing member and to charge the surface;
a brush unit including a brush configured to come into contact with a surface of the charging roller, and a holding member configured to hold the brush;

wherein the frame member includes a first protrusion portion protruding in a rotation axis direction of the charging roller, and a second protrusion portion disposed at a different position from the first protrusion portion in the rotation axis direction and protruding in the rotation axis direction,
wherein the holding member includes a first receiving portion configured to receive the first protrusion portion and a second receiving portion configured to receive the second protrusion portion, the first receiving portion having a first opening configured to allow the first receiving portion to receive the first protrusion portion from a direction intersecting with the rotation axis direction, the second receiving portion having a second opening configured to allow the second receiving portion to receive the second protrusion portion from a direction intersecting with the rotation axis direction, and
wherein an opening direction of the first opening with respect to a center of the first receiving portion is different from an opening direction of the second opening with respect to a center of the second receiving portion.
