Abstract
The invention concerns a plug-in hybrid propulsion system having an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The electric motor includes a battery pack having an operating range of between 100 km and 150 km and the internal combustion engine has a displacement of less than or equal to 600 cc. or a power lower than 30-50 hp. The present invention also concerns a related vehicle driven by a plug-in hybrid engine of the aforementioned type.

A plug-in hybrid propulsion system comprising an internal combustion engine and an electric motor,
- wherein said electric motor is coupled to and powered by a battery pack, wherein said internal combustion engine comprises a displacement of between 600 cm3 and 300 cm3 and a power of between 30-50 hp and wherein said electric motor comprises two electric units, a first electric unit acting as an alternator/generator and a second electric unit acting as a propulsion system and wherein said battery pack provides an energy storage capacity less than or equal to 30 kWh.
A plug-in hybrid vehicle configured with a propulsion system comprising an internal combustion engine and an electric motor,
