Abstract
The present disclosure describes various articles of manufacture configured for use as throwing axes and hatchets with, in some embodiments, concave blade designs that improve the ability of a thrown axe to remain embedded in a target.

An axe head for a throwing axe, the axe head comprising:
- a blade having a concave forward edge, wherein the blade tapers to a tip for embedding in a target.
A throwing axe comprising:
- a blade having a single concave profile;
- a beard;
- a tapered tip configured to embed in a target;
- and
- a handle attached to the blade.
