Abstract
A composite material for passive cooling includes a porous structure including an expanded graphite and a surfactant, the porous structure being provided with at least one crystalline deliquescent salt that is selected from the group consisting of chloride, bromide, sulphate, and nitrate. The uses of the composite material in passive cooling are also addressed.

A composite material for passive cooling comprising a porous structure including an expanded graphite and a surfactant, the porous structure being provided with at least one crystalline deliquescent salt that is selected from the group consisting of chloride, bromide, sulphate, and nitrate.
A composite sorbent material for passive cooling comprising a porous scaffold of an expanded graphite in which a surfactant and at least one deliquescent salt are dispersed;
- and a moisture-permeable material encapsulating the porous scaffold;
- wherein the at least one deliquescent salt is selected from the group consisting of chloride, bromide, sulphate, and nitrate.
