Abstract
A box is disclosed that comprises a plurality of panels and flaps substantially enclosing an inner space and a tear initiator. A first side panel and a connecting flap at least partially overlapping with the first side panel. The tear initiator includes a first cut in the first side panel and a second cut in the connecting flap adjacent and offset from the first cut to enable an opening to be formed through the first side panel and the connecting flap upon application of force at the tear initiator to open the box.

A box comprising:
- a plurality of panels and flaps substantially enclosing an inner space;
- a first side panel;
- and
- a connecting flap at least partially overlapping with the first side panel;
- and
- a tear initiator including a first cut in the first side panel and a second cut in the connecting flap adjacent and offset from the first cut to enable an opening to be formed through the first side panel and the connecting flap upon application of force at the tear initiator to open the box.

- a first side panel;
- a second side panel opposite the first side panel;
- a third side panel extending between the first side panel and the second side panel;
- a first end flap extending from the first side panel;
- and
- a second end flap connected to the second side panel and at least partially overlapping with the first end flap, the first end flap including an extension portion extending outward beyond the third side panel to permit a user to grasp the extension and apply force to the extension portion to detach the first end flap and second end flap from the first side panel and second side panel.
