• a control unit configured to control an operation of a back gauge device including at least three abutment mechanisms each including a base part and an abutment part provided on a tip end side of the base part, each configured to be movable along each of a first operation axis in a first direction and a second operation axis in a second direction intersecting the first direction, and each arranged in parallel in the second direction,
• the control unit is configured to perform:
• a determination process configured to determine, when, from among the abutment mechanisms of the back gauge device, first and second abutment mechanisms positioned at both sides in the second direction and each having a shape with the abutment part arranged offset with respect to a reference axis of the base part along the first direction, and a third abutment mechanism positioned between the first and second abutment mechanisms, are operated based on operation control information, whether an operation of at least one of the first and second abutment mechanisms and an operation of the third abutment mechanism interfere with each other;
• and
• an avoiding operation process configured to cause at least one of the first, second, and third abutment mechanisms to perform an avoiding operation to prevent the interference based on a determination result determined by the determination process.
