Abstract
The present invention provides a method and kit for the treatment of surfaces, such as the skin surface of a user, to impart hydrophobic characteristics upon the surface. The treatment of surfaces to impart hydrophobicity protects equipment, personnel, and animals from the effects of aqueous solutions such as water, toxic slurries, concrete, acids and bases.
Claims20
A kit for hydrophobic treatment comprising:
- a first plurality of silica silylate particles of a first average size;
- a second plurality of silica silylate particles of a second average size;
- and
- a third plurality of silica silylate particles of a third average size;
- wherein the first average size is greater than the second average size;
- wherein the second average size is greater than the third average size;
- and
- wherein the first plurality of silica silylate particles represent at least about 20% of the volume of silica silylate particles in the kit.
5 more elements
A method for treating a skin surface with silica silylate comprising:
- rubbing a first plurality of particles of silica silylate on the surface, wherein the first plurality of particles comprises a first average size;
- rubbing a second plurality of particles of silica silylate on the surface, wherein the second plurality of particles comprises a second average size;
- and
- rubbing a third plurality of particles of silica silylate on the surface, wherein the third plurality of particles comprises a third average size,
- wherein the treatment results in the surface comprising hydrophobic characteristics to prevent the adhesion of an aqueous material to the surface.
