Carbon dioxide removal and associated systems, devices, and methods

A system for removal of carbon dioxide gas, the system comprising:

• a first apparatus comprising:
• a first web comprising a sorbent configured to absorb carbon dioxide;
• a first drive system operably coupled to the first web, wherein, in operation, the first drive system transports the first web in a first direction from a first initial zone to a first subsequent zone, wherein, in operation, the first web is exposed to gas at the first initial zone, and wherein the first initial zone is at a first temperature and the first subsequent zone is at a second temperature greater than the first temperature;
• and
• a first heating mechanism configured to increase a temperature of the first subsequent zone at least to the second temperature;
• a second apparatus comprising:
• a second web comprising the sorbent;
• a second drive system operably coupled to the second web, wherein, in operation, the second drive system transports the second web from a second initial zone, to a second subsequent zone, wherein, in operation, the second web is exposed to the gas at the second initial zone, and wherein the second initial zone is at the first temperature and the second subsequent zone is at the second temperature;
• and
• a second heating mechanism configured to increase a temperature of the second subsequent zone at least to the second temperature;
• and
• a conductor located between the first apparatus and the second apparatus, wherein the conductor is positioned to contact the first web exiting the first subsequent zone and to contact the second web prior to entering the second subsequent zone, such that the conductor recaptures heat from the first web and transfers heat to the second web.

A system for removal of carbon dioxide gas, the system comprising:

• a first apparatus comprising:
• a first web comprising a sorbent configured to absorb carbon dioxide;
• a first drive system operably coupled to the first web, wherein, in operation, the first drive system transports the first web in a first direction from a first initial zone to a first subsequent zone, wherein the first initial zone is at a first temperature and the first subsequent zone is at a second temperature greater than the first temperature;
• and
• a first heating mechanism configured to increase a temperature of the first subsequent zone at least to the second temperature;
• a second apparatus comprising:
• a second web comprising the sorbent;
• a second drive system operably coupled to the second web, wherein, in operation, the second drive system transports the second web from a second initial zone to a second subsequent zone;
• and
• a second heating mechanism configured to increase a temperature of the second subsequent zone at least to the second temperature;
• and
• a conductor located between the first apparatus and the second apparatus, wherein the conductor is positioned to contact the first web exiting the first subsequent zone and to contact the second web prior to entering the second subsequent zone, such that the conductor recaptures heat from the first web and transfers heat to the second web.

A method for removing carbon dioxide gas, the method comprising:

• providing a first web and a second web each comprising a sorbent configured to absorb carbon dioxide;
• transporting the first web via a first drive mechanism from (i) a first initial zone to (ii) a first subsequent zone;
• transporting the second web via a second drive mechanism from (i) a second initial zone to (ii) a second subsequent zone;
• heating, using a first heating mechanism, a first portion of the first web within the first subsequent zone to a predetermined minimum temperature;
• transferring heat from the first web using a conductor in contact with (i) the first web exiting the first subsequent zone and (ii) the second web prior to entering the second subsequent zone, such that the conductor recaptures heat from the first web and transfers heat to the second web;
• and
• removing fluid comprising at least 0.1% carbon dioxide from the first subsequent zone and the second subsequent zone.
