Non-transitory computer-readable storage media having computer-executable instructions stored thereon for resource preservation and intervention within a network computing environment, wherein when executed by at least one processor the computer-executable instructions cause the at least one processor to:
- retrieve data records from a data source, each of the data records containing data elements relating to resources and/or activity within the network computing environment;
- analyze the data records to enumerate a plurality of resources within the network computing environment;
- classify each of the plurality of resources under one of a plurality of pre-defined categories, the classification including determination of one or both of:
- (a) whether an action associated with at least one of the pre-defined categories may be performed on the respective resource, or (b) whether a change associated with at least one of the pre-defined categories may be made to the respective resource;
- based on the classification of the plurality of resources, assign a plurality of enabled action programs to each of the plurality of resources, wherein execution of each of the plurality of enabled action programs causes pre-determined changes in the behavior and/or capabilities of the corresponding one of the plurality of resources;
- based on the classification of the plurality of resources, apply one of a plurality of data preservation programs to each of the plurality of resources within the network computing environment, wherein execution of each of the plurality of data preservation programs causes collection of corresponding pre-defined resource data;
- for each of the plurality of resources, expose the corresponding pre-defined resource data and the assigned plurality of enabled action programs to and for use via a client device.
