Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a hydraulic steering unit (1) including a supply port arrangement configured to supply hydraulic working pressure (PCF) via a working flow path arrangement to a steering mechanic (2). The working flow path arrangement includes at least a first working flow path (8) with a first port (R) configured to be fluidically connected to the steering mechanic (2) and a second working flow path (9) with a second port (L) configured to be fluidically connected to the steering mechanic (2). Further, a measuring motor (13) is arranged in one of the working flow paths (8, 9) of the working flow path arrangement. Furthermore, the working flow path arrangement is configured to supply a hydraulic auxiliary pressure provided by the measuring motor (13) via each of the ports (R, L), when the hydraulic working pressure (PCF) is below a predetermined threshold value. In order to provide an improved hydraulic steering unit, an auxiliary flow path (11) between the first working flow path (8) and the second working flow path (9) is generated, when the hydraulic working pressure (PCF) is below the predetermined threshold value.
